2026, it’s time again to experience history creatively and keep memory alive! Thanks to funding from TACHELES 2026 – The Year of Jewish Culture in Saxony, we are continuing the successful project “ECHOES IN INK – The Art of Remembrance”.

Students in grades 7 to 12 will have the opportunity, across several project days at schools in Saxony, to engage creatively with Jewish history, culture of remembrance, and antisemitism prevention. In interactive workshops, they will develop their own short comics, reflect on social responsibility, and explore historical and local biographies.
Selected works will be featured in a digital E-Book and exhibited at the Full Moon Gallery Dresden. During the exhibition, an awards ceremony will honor outstanding contributions, judged by representatives from Jewish communities as well as art and education experts. Accessibility and inclusive methods ensure that all students can participate, regardless of prior knowledge.

The graphic novels in “ECHOES IN INK – The Art of Remembering” capture precisely such moments and transform them into visual narratives that intrigue and move us. The works are by young artists who courageously ask: How do we remember? What do we hold on to? And what happens when stories fall silent? Some stories delve into historical events, others into personal experiences, social issues, identity, loss, or new beginnings. New perspectives on the past and present always emerge.
